Watch it on ESPN at 6:00 pm as the Georgetown Hoyas come to Birmingham to play the Alabama Crimson Tide. This will be followed by the West Virginia Mountaineers playing against the Auburn Tigers. It should be an interesting match-up since Alabama can’t score and Georgetown has the nation’s best scoring defense. Hoyas will probably win, but I hope Alabama will be able to make us proud with a good effort.

Hoya is a made up word based on an actual greek word mean “what” (I think). Hoya was the name of the student newspaper, moved to the mascot and then the team followed suit. Originally Georgetown teams were the hilltopppers (basketball) or the stonewalls (baseball).
