Coach Nick Saban recently stated in an Montgomery Advertiser article that he wants Alabama to become more like Freddy Krueger (LINK):
“We talk about our three ‘I’s’ — intensity, immediacy, intelligence,” he said. “We want to have a big, physical team that no one wants to play. We want to be relentless.”
To illustrate the second point, Saban recalled a character from the popular “Nightmare on Elm Street” horror move series.
“Freddy Krueger — why is he so scary? You can’t kill him,” Saban said. “You think he’s gone and then he reaches through the wall and grabs you around the neck.
“When we start to play like champions, that’s when we’ll win a championship.”
A strange comparison? Sure, but it is something to keep you pumped up for the next few years.
