Croomin’ With The Big Dogs

Well, a few pictures from a post of mine has found their way onto AOL Sports FanHouse in the form of a video. I can’t take any credit for the video itself, so you’ll have to send whatever praise -or “other” thoughts- you may have to the folks at the FanHouse since they put it together.

I know what a few of you might be thinking; what if Bama gets beat by the Bulldogs again this year? If that happens, I will post a “Croomed!” picture of Nick Saban to be fair. Have a wonderful evening everybody.

Time to Focus on UGA

Well, that victory over Arkansas was fun wasn’t it? But, it is time to move on from this victory. The stakes are surprisingly high for this weekend as ESPN College Gameday has decided to travel to Tuscaloosa to watch the Tide and the Dawgs battle for SEC glory. I just hope all of this “Tuscaloosa Gameday curse” stuff proves to be a bunch of garbage.

UGA will be tough, as they always seem to be. In fact, Richt is taking no risks whatsoever. He’s closed practice for the week, meaning nobody in the media will be allowed to watch. Of course, the article has to tie Saban into some form of cheating:

Georgia’s practices are usually open to reporters and photographers for the first 30 minutes.

“It’s the Belichick rule,” the Georgia official said. “We’ve been skunked in the past. We know it because of the way some teams have reacted to our [offensive] plays in a few games. We’re trying to make sure it doesn’t happen again.”

Richt’s decision comes a week after New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick was accused of spying tactics during his team’s 38-14 win over the New York Jets on Sept. 9. During the game, the Patriots had a video camera aimed at Jets coaches, which was confiscated from a New England employee during the first quarter.

Alabama coach Nick Saban, in his first season coaching the Crimson Tide, worked four seasons as Belichick’s defensive coordinator with the Cleveland Browns from 1991-94.

Ironically, Saban’s team was accused of stealing the Patriots’ signals last season when he was coach of the Miami Dolphins, but the NFL found no evidence of wrongdoing.

“We were never accused of that, that I’m aware of, and we never did it,” Saban said Monday, during his weekly news conference in Tuscaloosa, Ala. “We didn’t have a video camera or tapes. We never got anybody’s signals. We had someone watching their signals, but we were never smart enough [to do it].”

*Sigh* it doesn’t surprise me that this would be brought up more than once. Trey Wingo of ESPN seemed to take great delight in mentioning it multiple times on the weekday NFL show on ESPN.

But I won’t let that bother me. I’m ready to make up for that 2002 UGA @ Bama game (not 2003, I will never allow myself to remember that game). I just hope I can get my Corso sign ready in time….

Man of Steele

Well, it turns out that Ronald Steele will miss this coming basketball season due to his recent knee surgeries. I for one will miss this guy a great deal when basketball season starts. Hopefully, he will be back ready to go the next season since he is taking a medical redshirt. Get well soon Ron!
